AM and PM
AM (ante meridiem) refers to the 12 hours from midnight to noon, and PM (post meridiem) refers to the 12 hours from noon to midnight.
Since analog clocks only show 12 hours but a day has 24 hours, AM and PM distinguish morning from afternoon and evening. AM runs from 12:00 midnight to 11:59 in the morning, and PM runs from 12:00 noon to 11:59 at night. Children often find AM/PM confusing because the same clock position (like 7:00) can mean morning or evening. I Can Tell Time solves this with day-and-night visual backgrounds that change based on whether the time shown is AM or PM, making the concept intuitive and concrete.
