Telling Time

Telling time is the ability to read and interpret the current time from a clock, whether analog or digital.

Telling time is a fundamental life skill that children typically begin learning between ages 4 and 8. It involves reading the positions of the hour and minute hands on an analog clock or the numbers on a digital clock. The skill develops progressively: children first learn hours (o'clock), then half-hours, quarter-hours, and finally time to the exact minute. Telling time also includes understanding AM/PM, reading schedules, and calculating how long activities take. I Can Tell Time is specifically designed to teach this skill through hands-on interaction with a proven see-it, set-it, know-it method.
